How, who and why do I need this?

The personal licence courses are the first stage in the process. After passing the exam you then need to make an application to your local council. An application must also be made for a Criminal Records Bureau Basic Declaration which is often known as a CRB check. Once issued, the certificate will last for a ten year period at which point you will need to renew this is depending however on current legislation at the time.
